Art March is Downtown Ferndale’s annual, month-long celebration of art and creativity, presented in collaboration with the Downtown Ferndale Public Art Program and the Ferndale Arts & Beautification Commission. Throughout the month, Art March highlights the richness and diversity of the artistic world, creating space for exploration, learning, shopping, dining, and meaningful connection throughout Downtown Ferndale.

As part of the 2026 Art March programming, the Community Arts Gallery inside First Merchants Bank—one of the longest-running galleries on Woodward Avenue—will present Common Ground, a collective exhibition featuring Ferndale-based artists. Curated by Amanda Koss, this exhibition invites artists who live, work, or create in Ferndale to share their perspectives and practices, celebrating the shared roots, experiences, and creative energy that connect this community. Common Ground aims to reflect the spirit of Ferndale through a diverse range of artistic voices, mediums, and approaches, offering residents and visitors alike an opportunity to engage with art created right here in the city.

The Community Arts Gallery is nestled within the First Merchants Bank, an integral part of the vibrant Ferndale, community. This unique space is owned by First Merchants Bank and collaboratively affiliated with the City of Ferndale.

Details:

• Number of Pieces: Can submit up to 3, all will be considered but not guaranteed acceptance.

• Size Limit: No size limit but must be hung with nails.

• Mediums: Open to all mediums, if your work requires a podium you must provide one at drop off.

• Drop off: Friday, February 26th, 10:30-12 am, FIRM.

• Unsold work pickup: Friday March 6th, FIRM.

• 20% commission on sales to cover merchant fees.

• Artwork does not need to be for sale.

• Artwork cannot contain nudity, profanity, religious themes, or sensitive topics.

• Opening reception date to be announced.
