Sometimes I just need a good think—a quiet moment to clear out the mental clutter that’s been building up in the corners of my mind. To sit with what’s coming in, process it, and make space for whatever’s next.

One of my favorite things about painting is that it doesn’t have to look the same every time. That freedom to shift and evolve is something I value deeply in my practice. I’m adaptable—I like that I can roll with client requests and lean into the weird and unexpected when it challenges me most.

Right now, I’m wrapping up a few pieces made from Grand Prix banners (can’t wait to share them!), but this painting... this one needed to happen first. I’ve been feeling stuck and stale creatively. Working at the Janice Charach Gallery has given me space to reflect—to see other artists’ work, to admire, to question, and yes, to battle the occasional wave of imposter syndrome.

But I’m shaking that off. This piece helped.
